Nails
Cut nails (square nails) were popular between approx. 1820-1910
Wire nails (round) were used from the early 1900s-on. Wire nails are cheaper to produce, but not as strong as cut nails.
Hand-forged nails, of course, aren't too common. They'd be used for special purposes, or restoration, etc.
From top to bottom: wrought handmade, cut nail, wire nail.

Ah, so that clarifies that thing about square vs round nails. *phew* We don't have too much to worry about, then. Unless we have him use hand-forged nails only...
Hee hee! No! I refuse to forge nails for this show. These are sure pretty, though. That shows how weird I am: I think hand-forged nails are pretty.
It's true, though! The hand-forged nails do have a lot more character and charm to them!
